Nutrition 101

Our Nutrition 101 class is new for 2018! Using Dave Ellis’s, “Fueling Tactics,” program as a foundation, our Fitness & Nutrition Specialists will cover sports nutrition using the most up-to-date information to help you maximize your performance! This is 90 minute course diving deeper  into the 3 step program including a DVD segment with discussion. Each athlete will receive a detailed hand-out and grocery list that will be explained throughout the session. In detail we will cover the anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant rich foods that boost an athletes immune system in addition to teaching each athlete the importance of selecting fiber rich starches first and reducing fast digesting sugars when inactive.  We also will discuss the value of diversifying protein intake and selecting lean proteins when inactive.  Nutrition 101 will also discuss the world of supplementation as we teach a “food first” approach but understand supplements can help with a busy schedule.  Utilizing this 3-step approach your athletes will begin to understand the importance of fueling to do hard work and refueling after we break down muscle tissue.  You don’t want to miss Nutrition 101 as it will be a game changer for your prep athletes!

Nutrition 100

Our Nutrition 100 class is new for 2018! Designed for the youth athlete, we use a simplified version of Dave Ellis’s, “Fueling Tactics,” program as a foundation, covering sports nutrition using the most up-to-date information to help you maximize your performance! Each session is taught by our Fitness & Nutrition Specialists will and each athlete will receive a hand-out that will be explained throughout the session.  Each session is 60 minutes long.  We will teach these young athletes about the importance of fruits and vegetables and how important they are to boost the immune system avoiding sickness and speeding up recovery.  We will also educate each athlete about fast digesting carbs vs. slow digesting carbs and talk to the athletes about the dangers associated with a diet rich in fast digesting sugars.  Nutrition 100 participants will also be taught to get protein in at each meal and learn to distinguish between animal, dairy, and vegetable sources.  You don’t want to miss Nutrition 100 as it will be a game changer for your young athletes!
